All Graduate Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and Research Assistants will have their tuition and fees automatically deferred to the end of the term to allow time to pay. Students who would also like to have their fees deducted from their biweekly paychecks may sign-up for the Graduate Assistant Fee Plan. This plan is offered year-round to Graduate Assistants, Teaching Assistants, and Research Assistants employed by FSU to enroll in payroll deductions. This plan applies to tuition and class fees only and does not change the due date of any other charges you might owe to FSU.
How do I enroll in the plan?
Spring 2026 Graduate Assistant Fee Plan
Please complete the above application if you are a Graduate Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or Research Assistant in an active pay status with FSU during the plan semester, and you are interested in paying your balance back via paycheck deductions. The application is due by January 23, 2026 to enroll in payroll deductions for the Spring 2026 term.
How will I know if my application has been received?
Upon completion, you will receive an automated email from Qualtrics with a summary of your responses. You will see an indicator on your “holds” area of your MyFSU portal confirming your enrollment in the plan once the deductions begin.
What are my payment options?
Should you choose not to enroll in deductions, you can pay your tuition and class fee balance by any payment method normally accepted by FSU, including e-check, credit card, or wire payment and payment can be made in any increment or lump sum by the payment deadline.
Beginning Fall 2020, we will no longer accept cash payments. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
By completing this application, you can enroll in payroll deductions to have some portion of your tuition and class fee balance deducted from your paycheck. You will be given the chance to opt-in for deductions and identify the deduction amount in the application.
What is the payroll deduction schedule?
For the Spring 2026 term, the application must be completed by January 23, 2026, to be eligible for payroll deductions. There are 6 planned deduction cycles for the Spring 2026 term on the following dates: February 6, February 20, March 6, March 20, April 3, and April 17.
How do I cancel payroll deductions?
The deduction arrangement will automatically end once your total deduction goal is met or at the end of the planned deduction schedule. You can also cancel this arrangement early by written request by emailing ctl-gradfinance@fsu.edu. If your tuition and class fee balance is paid in full prior to the final deduction, then future deductions will be canceled automatically. Early cancellation of this arrangement for any reason may take up to two weeks.
What if my payroll deduction results in an underpayment or overpayment?
If any paycheck is insufficient for a planned deduction, then a partial deduction will be made up to the full value of your paycheck. Subsequent deductions will continue at the planned biweekly rate and will not adjust to make up for underpayment.
If a payroll deduction results in an overpayment, the overpayment of tuition and class fees may be applied to other charges you owe to FSU before any excess will be refunded to you. You must enroll your student account in direct deposit to receive a refund for any excess payments.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
Any questions about the submission or process for the Graduate Tuition Payment Plan can submitted to the Office of Student Finance by emailing ctl-gradfinance@fsu.edu.
